Montgomery County officials have recently approved dozens of new developments which will bring at least 13,000 new homes to the area according to the Conroe Courier. The article quoted Houston Association of Realtors Chair Thomas Mouton with Century 21 Exclusive Properties who noted that “recent declines in mortgage rates have also given consumers a bit of renewed optimism, with some previously hesitant buyers now showing increased interest in buying a home.” The southwest and southeast areas of Montgomery County continue to be popular for residential development.

As the 248-acre Deison Technology Park in Conroe attracts new companies to the area and those companies create new jobs, those new employees will be looking for housing. Other major employers in the area such as Exxon Mobil, Woodforest National Bank and Conroe ISD contribute significantly as well as a steady demand for rental properties with vacancy rates remaining low.
More people means that more restaurants, grocery stores, banks, shopping centers, parks and schools will follow. They are all a “byproduct of home growth” said Jack Burgher, a partner in BCS Capital Group, a Houston-based real estate company that specializes in retail, mixed-use and industrial development projects, including several projects in Magnolia. More choices for everything in this category will be a welcome sight for all those who live and work in the Montgomery County area.
With all of the development planned in the area, you may be considering making a move yourself. Did you know that nearly a fifth of Americans rent self storage units? A study conducted by RentCafe earlier this year finds that Millennials are the most likely renters, followed by Gen X and Boomers. Most people rent storage to make up for a lack of space at home, followed by moving and downsizing. Furniture and clothing make up the bulk of items kept in storage with home appliances, equipment, sports gear and hobby items also being popular. You may find this list of the 10 reasons that people use self storage interesting.
