Here are a variety family-friendly local options to celebrate the upcoming 4th of July Weekend.

Freedom Fest, Downtown Historic Montgomery
Saturday, July 3, 9 AM – 2 PM

The activities kickoff with the “Anything But A Trailer Parade” at 9 AM. There is no cost to participate in the parade and details can be found here. Line-up starts at 8 AM with judging at 8:30 AM. The fun continues with a Junior Creative Arts Show – a new addition this year – with both Children (up to 12 years old) and Teen (13-19 years old) competitions. Click to download Rule & Registration. There will also be Crafter’s Market, Food Trucks and a Kid’s Zone that will include bounce houses and lawn games such as Yahtzee and Connect Four.

A Free Patriotic Concert by the Conroe Symphony
Heritage Place in Conroe
Saturday, July 3, 7:30 PM – 9:00 PM

It’s time to let freedom and music ring once again. The Conroe Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of its new Music Director Anna-Maria Gkouni, will perform a repertoire of patriotic pops and all-American composers including community favorites like “America, the Beautiful” arranged by Carmen Dragon, “Stars and Stripes Forever” by John Philip Sousa and “Armed Forces Salute” by Bob Lowden. This event is free and open to the public. Bring a chair or blanket and get ready to share in a truly memorable community event celebrating freedom, music, and a shared love of musical arts. Independence Day Picnic in the Park
Sunday, July 4, 12 PM – 5 PM

Join VFW Post 4709 at Candy Cane Park, behind the VFW at 1303 W Semands Ave. Conroe, TX 77301 for hot dogs, snow cones, bounce house, dunk tank, apple pie, cotton candy, face painting and outdoor games. Celebrate Independence Day with the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Fun for the whole family!


July 4th Celebration at Unity Park in Magnolia
Sunday, July 4, 4 PM until Fireworks at Dusk

The fun begins at 4 PM with vendors such as Cheri’s Sneaux Cones, Tressie’s Southern Kitchen and Waffle O’licious. The City of Magnolia Police Department will be providing electronic fingerprinting for kids. There will be a Children’s Bicycle Parade sponsored by the Magnolia Festival Committee. Registration for the Parade is at Alpha Academy starting at 5 PM and the Parade begins at 5:30 PM to Williams Pavilion. Awards for 1st-3rd place in 0-3 years; 4-6 years; 7-10 years. A Firework display for all to enjoy will take place at dusk and is sponsored by the City of Magnolia. Unity Park is located at 19450 Unity Park Dr, Magnolia, TX 77355.
