On the eve of Memorial Day, Sunday, May 26th at 5 PM veterans and civilians will gather at Lone Star Cowboy Church and spread out across the 60+ acre campus and set up the tents near the fire pit. The group will gather around the fire and share a stew that evening. At sunrise (approximately 7 AM) on Memorial Day, May 27th friends in the community will join for the Memorial Day tradition that is the Murph workout (participate at your fitness level). This workout is named after Michael Murphy, a Navy SEAL who gave his life to call in Air Support for his team who were surrounded by the enemy. After the Murph (approximately 10 AM) participants and spectators will gather in the rodeo arena to hear testimonies from friends of Lone Star Cowboy Church, including those who are veterans of the Special Operations Community and from a guest speaker who will share a message about the true meaning of Memorial Day.
