Giving Back to Your Community

Montgomery Self Storage believes it’s important to support the communities where we live and work. Whether you volunteer, participate in an event, contribute financially or donate material items, opportunities abound.

So many options to choose from

Take a look at the list of the Best Community Service/Non-Profits in the Conroe area as reviewed by Yelp users. There are several pages of great options to consider. Yelp reviewer Michelle R. of The Woodlands said the Montgomery County Food Bank is a “great place, especially if you are wanting to give back. The shifts are super easy and the staff is so incredibly nice. Informational video before your first time and then it’s off to help wherever needed!”

The It’s All Good Thrift Store is a great place to shop, volunteer or donate. Unlike some of the national donation centers, all the proceeds from this store go back to the local community. Yelper Sue R. of Willis writes “I am a volunteer here, so I am prejudiced!! The store is small, but new merchandise is put out daily. Prices are very reasonable and their clothing selection is top quality. Treasures abound…furniture, housewares, clothing, toys, linens. Their selection of infant and children’s clothing is great. This store is a non-profit, with all the profits going next door to help fund the Pregnancy Assistance Centers in Conroe and the Woodlands.”

If you are an animal lover, consider the Houston Cocker Spaniel Rescue in The Woodlands that was formed by two cocker spaniel lovers who have over 25 years combined experience in “rescuing” Cocker Spaniels. They are always in need of foster homes while placing rescues with their forever families. Yelp reviewer Audrey H. says “What a great organization! I met these people at Paw Fest in Spring and we adopted a Schnauker (Cocker Spaniel and Schnauzer mix). I could tell all the volunteers really cared about the dogs and the work they did.“

Finding the right fit for you

Hopefully this list will encourage you to consider whether you are doing enough to give back to your community. Focus on where your passions are, and volunteering, participating or donating will be a fulfilling experience for both you and your community.
