We hope these profiles will encourage you, give you an idea or two, and get you better acquainted with our incredible local business community. This month, we’re shining the spotlight on E. Levi Love Jr., PE, President of L Squared Engineering.
What do you want the community to know about your business?
L2 is a local civil engineering firm in the Houston area. Most of our work is in Texas, but our reach has included Florida, North Carolina, and even Ethiopia. We work on a wide variety of projects from small commercial sites to large-acreage, master-planned communities. L2 also serves as the Engineer of Record for several Utility Districts. We can take a project from conception to construction with our skilled and capable professional staff.
What makes you proudest of your business?
The dedication of each of my staff to exceed our client’s expectations makes me proud of my team. We commit to treat our client’s investment as if it were our own, giving us a unique approach to value-engineering from the conception of a project.
What might surprise people about your business?
We have extensive self-storage experience and have many successful projects. We are also a member of the Texas Self Storage Association.
When did you start your business?
2011
Please tell us about your current role with your business.
I am the principal owner. I oversee all design, perform quality control, observe construction, and occasionally take out the trash or sweep the floor.
What advice would you offer somebody new to your field?
Listen first and take your time to give an intelligent answer, but do not be afraid to admit you need to do research before answering.
Are you involved with any community or professional organizations?
Yes: TSSA Texas Self Storage Association, ASCE American Society of Civil Engineers, Lions Club – advocates for the blind, Montgomery County Fair Association Lifetime Member and Volunteer, The Woodlands First Baptist Church.
What’s your favorite thing to do when you’re not at work?
I love to do home projects with my kids. I also love to travel with my family and explore Texas and beyond.
What’s the most memorable thing about collaborating with Montgomery Self Storage?
I have learned to appreciate the lengths they will go to accommodate their customers as we improve and expand each of their locations. We each must remain constantly attentive to the evolving needs of the customers to stay a leader in our own industry.
