FAQ: When Is It Time to Upgrade?

Is it time to upgrade to climate-controlled storage?

When you rented your first storage unit, it was kind of a “catch-all” for the tools, holiday decorations, and yard furniture that didn’t fit in your garage. That was fine until you started storing business documents and your parents’ photo collection. Now, you’re wondering if you should move your belongings to a climate-controlled environment

Our answer is: Absolutely.

Whenever you’re storing items that can be damaged by extreme temperatures or Texas’ ever-present humidity, climate control is the best way to protect them.

In addition to photos and important documents, we recommend climate control for:

  • Wooden furniture
  • Leather furniture, handbags, and clothing
  • Bedding and mattresses
  • Appliances
  • Collectibles, including coins and stamps
  • Clothing
  • Musical Instruments
  • Electronics
  • Wine

If you are thinking about upgrading, your timing couldn’t be better. Not only do we offer climate-controlled spaces at our Schroeder Road and Texas Highway 105 West locations, but we’re also taking steps to make climate control available to even more of our customers. By the second half of 2019, we will have climate-controlled spaces—including a new three-story building—at our FM 2854 location in Conroe. We’re also adding more climate-controlled units to our Highway 105 West property in Montgomery.
