Admission and parking are free Monday-Thursday. This video will give you a good idea of everything to look forward to.

Montgomery County’s Largest Event

In 2023, the 10-day event drew a record 75,000+ people to the Fairgrounds and nearly 3,000 exhibitors. This year’s Opening Day on April 11 will feature Senior Citizen’s Day which takes place at the Lone Star Convention Center. Senior adults may submit their handicrafts and baked goods to be judged and a King and Queen will be crowned. Visit the Carnival from 4 PM-11 PM on Opening Day.

Things start rolling on April 12 with Rodeo Weekend. Many of the livestock and non-livestock judging events begin and there are professional rodeos on both Friday & Saturday nights beginning at 6 PM. The rodeos are followed by a concert that is included in the admission price. Country band Jason Boland & The Stragglers perform on Friday and Danielle Bradbery – the 2013 winner of NBC’s “The Voice” – perform on Saturday. Additionally, the 2024 Fair Queen will be crowned at Saturday night’s rodeo.

April 19-20 is Barbeque Cook-off Weekend, featuring 147 teams competing with booths throughout the grounds culminating with the Awards Presentation on Saturday, April 20 at 6:30 PM. A washer pitching contest and cornhole tournament will also be a part of the weekend’s activities.

There are lots of other fun and interesting events and exhibits not to be missed like the Ag Robotics competition and a Classic Car Show. You can find a printable schedule of events here. The fair closes its 2024 run with El Dia de La Familia Hispana featuring bands and dancers starting at noon April 21.

The Montgomery County Community Benefits

Since 1993, over $2 million in scholarships have been awarded with $150,000 presented in 2023 to high school seniors in Montgomery County. Over the past 29 years, just the Livestock Auction alone has earned almost $20,000,000, paid back to the youth of Montgomery County.

Montgomery Self Storage is proud to be a part of a community that has such a long tradition of supporting the youth of the county and sends a BIG THANK YOU to all of the volunteers who work behind the scenes to make this event such a huge success.
