Once again, we are pleased to share a few Memorial Day Weekend activities that are planned for the communities where we live and work. Montgomery Self Storage is locally owned and operated by a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps who honors those who made the ultimate sacrifice and appreciates the brave men and women who chose to protect and serve.
Thousands of crawfish lovers, backyard boilers and championship teams from across the South will gather for two unforgettable days of food and music billed as the “Biggest Cajun Party in Texas.” There will be live music and surprise guest performances. Whether you plan to compete, eat or just party Cajun-style, don’t miss the 7th Annual Crawfish Critic Cookoff & Festival – Southern Cajun Cookoff Association’s World Championship and the AYCE Crawfish/Gumbo/Jambalaya Cookoff. Click here for more information and to purchase tickets.
Kick off summer in paradise at the Twisted Parrot Luxury RV Resort. There will be golf carts, games, poolside fun, tropical drinks and lake vibes. Don’t miss all of the red, white & blue energy! Grab your reservation quick – sites will sell out quickly. More details can be found here.
Join the Mighty Oaks Memorial Murph, a challenging workout in honor of fallen heroes and a chance to push your limits in their memory. Get ready to push you limits and pay tribute to those who have made the ultimate sacrifice. Participants will take on one of two challenging Murph workouts:
1. Traditional Murph consisting of a 1-mile run, 100 pull-ups, 200 push-ups, 300 air squats, followed by another 1-mile run.
2. Modified Murph consisting of a 1-mile run, 100 bent-rows (sandbag), 200 push-ups, 300 air squats, followed by another 1-mile run.
Whether you’re a seasoned athlete or just starting out, this event is open to all fitness levels. Join us as we come together to remember and honor those who have given everything for our freedom. Check-in is from 7:00 AM – 7:45 AM. You can find a full schedule and sign up for the event here.
(adjacent to the Montgomery County Central Library and the Lone Star Monument and Historical Flag Park, at the southeast corner of Texas 105 and I-45)

This event is a time for the community to come together to honor, reflect and show our deep gratitude for those who answered the call to serve. Families, friends, veterans and supporters of our military are invited to this meaningful observance to honor service, preserve memory and pay respects to the heroes who helped protect the freedoms we hold dear. All gave some, some gave all.
If you have a worn American flag, it can be retired respectfully at dedicated Retire & Respect drop-off boxes, including one at the Montgomery County Veterans Memorial Park. Other local boxes can also be found at these locations.
If you are out and about, stop by one of our seven locations and let one of our professional on-site managers explain our discount for active military and first responders.
